Celebrating Christmas & New Year in Kerala
A State of Celebrations
Kerala comes alive in December and January. From the misty hills of Munnar, where tea gardens are cloaked in winter fog, to the vibrant shores of Kovalam, the festive spirit is everywhere. The Cochin Carnival, a legacy of the Portuguese, lights up Fort Kochi with processions and the burning of the ‘Pappanji’ effigy to ring in the New Year.
New Year by the Sea
This tour takes you to Kovalam and Kanyakumari during the perfect season. Celebrating New Year’s Eve on the beaches of Kovalam is a magical experience, with fireworks reflecting off the Arabian Sea. Further south, witnessing the first sunrise of the year at Kanyakumari, where three oceans meet, is considered a spiritually uplifting start to the year.
Nature at its Best
Winter is the best time to visit Kerala. The humidity drops, making backwater cruises in Alleppey and treks in Munnar incredibly pleasant. The cool breeze at the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum adds to the divine experience, making this 8-day journey a perfect blend of culture, nature, and festivity.
